THE SIGHTS Pink sandstone at first light. Hill forts above the plain. A grid city, planned in 1727. Stone instruments that read the sky. Bazaars sorted by craft.

THE VIBE Royal. Crafted. Loud. Warm. Ordered. Unhurried. Heritage in daily use. Craft in motion. regal. tactile. sunlit.

Most people come to Jaipur for the forts and palaces, then stay for everything wrapped around them. India's first planned city still runs on its 1727 grid, so the sights sit close together and the days plan themselves.

We would start with a morning bike ride through the old city before the traffic builds (JAI-PROD-27), then eat your way across the walled city on a guided food walk (JAI-PROD-8). What sets Jaipur apart is that the heritage is still in use — the bazaars in the World Heritage core are working craft streets, not a preserved set.

Two days covers the headline sights; three adds a day trip or a fort sunset.

Best for couples, first-timers to India, and anyone who shops with intent.
