Singapore is small enough to cross in 30 minutes, but each area gives you a different version of the city.

HOW TO CHOOSE A HOTEL IN Singapore

HOW IMPORTANT IS
THE LOCATION?
Singapore is one of Asia's most compact cities. The MRT crosses the island in about 30 minutes; even by taxi, most tourist zones sit within 15–20 minutes of each other.
That said, each neighbourhood has its own pace and price range, so where you base yourself still shapes your day.
- Public transport
MRT covers all tourist areas and runs from 5:30am to midnight. Tap any contactless Visa or Mastercard at the gate — no separate card needed. - Walkability
Marina Bay, Orchard, Chinatown and the Civic District are walkable in pockets. Heat and humidity force breaks every 20–30 minutes. - Taxis / ride-hail
Grab is the default app; CDG Zig and Gojek also work. A private driver for the day runs roughly US$120–160.
TravJoy Tip
For a first visit, base yourself in Marina Bay or Orchard Road — both put the icon sights and the MRT spine within walking distance.
