Based on Baz Luhrmann's 2001 film, this jukebox musical has played the Piccadilly Theatre since 2021. Set in fin-de-siècle Paris, it stages the doomed romance of Christine and Christian with over 70 contemporary pop songs woven through the score.
The auditorium itself becomes the Moulin Rouge — red velvet, the giant elephant on stage left, the windmill turning above. A chorus of dancers in feathered costumes opens with 'Lady Marmalade'.
