Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil's musical has played continuously in London since 1985 — the longest unbroken run of any West End musical. Based on Victor Hugo's 1862 novel, it stages revolution-era Paris through 'Do You Hear the People Sing?' and 'I Dreamed a Dream'.
Barricades rise from the stage as revolutionary anthems swell. Candles flicker, blue-grey lighting washes over military jackets, and 'One Day More' closes Act One in thunderous ensemble voice.
