In a purpose-built arena beside the Olympic Park, digital 'ABBAtars' — motion-captured from the real 1979 ABBA — perform 22 songs backed by a live band. The result is neither concert nor musical, but something genuinely new.
The arena lights dim; four young ABBA members appear on stage, impossibly lifelike. The 10-piece live band pulses behind them as 'Waterloo' opens the night.
