The Vibe:A palace that seems to float, then vanishes at dusk.

Set in Man Sagar Lake on the road out to Amer, this eighteenth-century pleasure palace stands five storeys tall with four of them submerged. It was built as a royal retreat during a period of lake engineering.
Water birds work the shallows while the Aravalli ridge closes the horizon behind. The promenade is breezy and unusually quiet for a roadside stop.

  • Five storeys, four of which sit below the waterline of Man Sagar Lake
  • One of Jaipur's most photographed views, particularly at sunset
  • The lakeside promenade was redeveloped as a public walking route
  • Rated 4.3 across more than 40,000 Google reviews

Fit For

  • 💕 Couples: "A short, easy sunset stop on the way back from Amer."
  • 📸 Photographers: "Reflections at dawn and colour on the water at dusk."
  • 👵 Seniors: "Flat promenade, no climbing, and a bench-lined walkway."
  • 👨‍👩‍👧 Families: "Brief, open-air, and there are snacks along the roadside."

Highlights

  • The head-on palace view from the Amer Road causeway
  • The lakeside promenade walk, which most visitors skip entirely - Hidden Gem
  • Migratory and resident water birds on Man Sagar Lake in winter
  • Sunset colour on the sandstone, when the palace is at its most photogenic
  • Handicraft and puppet stalls along the roadside edge
