HOW TO CHOOSE A HOTEL IN Goa New

HOW IMPORTANT IS
THE LOCATION?

Goa is small on the map but slow to cross. Driving from Arambol in the north to Palolem in the south takes around three hours on narrow, busy roads.

Pick one beach belt as your base and treat the rest as day trips.

  • Public transport
Kadamba (KTCL) buses link towns and main beaches cheaply but run slow and crowded. Konkan Railway stops at Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon and Canacona for long north–south hops.
  • Walkability
Panjim's Fontainhas and the Candolim–Baga strip work on foot. Elsewhere, roads lack pavements and distances between beaches are long.
  • Taxis / ride-hail
Uber and Ola do not operate in Goa. Use the state-backed GoaMiles or Goa Taxi App, or hire a private driver for roughly US$35–50 a day.

TravJoy Tip

First visit? Split your stay: three or four nights in Candolim for North Goa, then three or four in the Benaulim–Mobor belt. Fly into Mopa for the north and Dabolim for the south.
