Tips
- Wear layered clothing; the summit drops to around 10°C before sunrise, then warms quickly as you descend.
- A head torch is provided, but bringing your own avoids battery issues during the climb.
- The trail is unpaved with loose volcanic gravel; closed trekking shoes outperform sneakers.
- Pick the jeep-only version if you have heart, knee or asthma concerns; that option reaches near-summit viewpoints by road.
- Carry around 50,000 IDR in small notes; the summit-side warungs are cash-only and locker tips are customary.
- Hot-spring entry is included, but towels are sold on-site; pack one if you can.
