Trade the crowds for an intimate longtail boat journey to Phang Nga Bay’s highlights. With a maximum of nine guests, this full-day tour visits a monkey cave temple, the stilted fishing village of Koh Panyee for lunch, and James Bond Island itself. You’ll paddle a canoe into tranquil sea caves and lagoons, and have more flexibility to linger at each site, making the whole experience feel personal and unhurried.

  • An emerging favorite – while still new on the scene, early travelers give it 5-star reviews for its personal touch and expert guiding.
  • Guests often say it feels like a private tour. The small group size means everyone gets individual attention and the itinerary can adjust to the group’s interests.
  • Ideal for those who avoid mass tourism – you see the famous sights without the crowds, and the day flows at a relaxed, island-time pace.

Tips

  • Look out for an email or WhatsApp message from the operator the day before – they usually confirm your exact pickup time and any last-minute details.
  • Wear attire that covers your shoulders and knees for the brief stop at the Monkey Cave temple (Wat Suwan Khuha); you can easily slip a sarong or scarf over beachwear.
  • The longtail boat is mostly open to the elements, so bring sun protection (hat, sunscreen) and consider a light long-sleeve shirt for when the sun is strongest.
  • Lunch is at the floating village of Koh Panyee and features local Thai dishes. If you have any dietary restrictions, inform your guide in the morning so the kitchen can accommodate you.
  • Keep items like snacks or plastic bags secure at the Monkey Cave – the wild monkeys are curious and might grab anything that looks like food.
  • With such a small group, don’t hesitate to ask questions or for little detours – the guide can often tailor the experience (time permitting) to what the group enjoys most.

Summary

After pickup from your hotel in Phuket, you'll be on your way to Wat Suwan Khuha, also known as the Monkey Cave. Make your way down into the cave's temple for a peek at the carvings and statues inside.

Next at the pier, board a longtail boat and sail onto Panyee Island, also known as the Floating Village. Built on stilts by the local fishermen, the island has been inhabited since the 18th century! Soak up the village life in action, before a stop for lunch at a cute local restaurant.

With a full belly, board the boat again to make your way to Talu Cave. Enjoy some free time to canoe and swim in the beautiful blue water.

Then, it's time to head to the day's main attraction, James Bond Island. Stop at a viewpoint and witness the breathtaking 20-meter rock formation, a solitary cliff surrounded by turquoise waters.

This is a great day out, packed with unforgettable, picturesque scenery!
