Phuket : Day Trips
Phuket serves as a base for boat excursions to several of the Andaman Sea's most recognised landscapes. Each trip covers a different stretch of coastline, from sheltered limestone bays to open-sea island groups.
- James Bond Island: The needle-shaped Ko Tapu rock in Phang Nga Bay, featured in "The Man with the Golden Gun" (1974). Tours typically include sea-cave canoeing and a stop at Koh Panyee floating village.
- Cheow Lan Lake: A freshwater reservoir in Khao Sok National Park, roughly two hours north. Known for towering karst cliffs, floating raft houses and jungle wildlife.
- Phi Phi Islands: A group of six islands about 45 kilometres southeast. Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon and Viking Cave are the primary stops, with snorkelling at multiple points.
- Koh Hey (Coral Island): A small island 15 minutes by speedboat from Rawai, with two beaches and shallow coral reefs suited to families and beginner snorkellers.
- Phang Nga Bay: A protected bay containing over 40 limestone karst islands. Tours combine canoeing through sea caves, visits to Hong Island's enclosed lagoon and stops at fishing villages.
