London: Afternoon Tea at Sketch

Held in the Gallery at Sketch — now lavender-purple following a redesign by British artist Yinka Ilori — tea here is unlike any in Mayfair. A full David Shrigley ceramic installation covered the previous pink era; pastries arrive as tiny sculptural works by Pierre Gagnaire's team.
Lilac velvet banquettes wrap around dome-shaped rooms; pastries arrive like miniature artworks. Even the washroom pods — golden eggs — are a destination in themselves.
