Intro to Goa

GOA 

Spike's River is the local name for the Nerul, a tidal channel behind Candolim. The paddle runs about two hours from a meeting point near Spike's Bridge. A briefing covers kayak handling and the birdlife before the group sets out. The route works through mangrove channels, past a riverside temple and rural village edges.<br/>
- Sightings on the route include kingfishers, osprey, sea eagles, red-wattled lapwings, egrets and herons.
- Fruit bats roost along the channel, with river otters and mud crabs visible on quieter runs.
- Kayaks, paddles, life vests and leashes are all included, alongside water and fruit juice.

Spike's River (Nerul River) is one of the most popular kayaking destinations in North Goa. Connect with wildlife, paddle into the famed mangroves, and also spot various types of kingfishers, osprey, sea eagles, red wattled lapwings, egrets, herons, cormorants and more.
