Book your tickets in advance and try to go on a weekday morning if possible – it’s less crowded, giving you more space and time in each room (weekends can get busy as this exhibit’s popularity grows).
Set aside about 45 minutes to an hour for the visit. It’s not huge, but don’t rush – plan to linger in each installation so you can really absorb the atmosphere.
Photography is definitely allowed (the visuals make for stunning photos and videos), but keep your flash off and your brightness low. The rooms are dark on purpose, and flash or bright screens can spoil the mood for everyone.
Be mindful of young kids and anyone prone to sensory overload. The museum is dark and filled with moving lights and sounds – hold little ones by the hand so they don’t get disoriented or frightened. Also, a few rooms have strobe-like effects, which could be intense if you’re sensitive to flashing lights.
Don’t just walk through quickly – try sitting down or standing still in each space for a while. The longer you stay, the more details you’ll notice in the projections and the more you’ll feel immersed in the scene.
After exploring, you can unwind at the ARTE Tea Bar (inside the museum) which continues the vibe with artfully presented drinks. It’s a nice way to reflect on your favorite room and gently transition back to the real world.
