Introduction

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent. Commissioned by Humayun’s widow, Empress Bega Begum, in 1569-70, it is an excellent example of Persian architecture. The tomb’s design inspired the later Taj Mahal. Visitors can explore the grand structure, surrounded by symmetrical gardens, water channels, and other smaller tombs.
