Klungkung, Bali’s capital city from 17th to 19th century when Dutch invaded. The most visible memory of the Klungkung Kingdom is the remains of the palace with the most significant being Kerta Gosa, the court of the high king. At Kerta Gosa Pavilion, the focus: is karma, explained by Kamasan style paintings. These depict the consequences of actions and the punishments, depending on your misdeed: Under the tree of daggers for example, knives shall fall upon your lip if you were a liar. Klung Klung Market is a mix of old and new. The new section has stores with beautiful Balinese fabrics, Balinese traditional clothing and gold jewellery. There is also a food court selling local food for both eat in and take away. The old section has fruit, vegetables, daily needs, shoes and clothing. This spacious market is one of the best in Bali because it is not crowded and the sellers are not pushy.

Sidemen Rice Field Walk is a flat walking track with a picture perfect view. Stroll along here, breathe in the fresh air and take photos of the stunning scenery.

Order you lunch from the delicious menu that includes ingredients that come from the garden. We recommend the granita’s as refreshing drink and the chocolate lava cake as dessert. A tour of the organic garden is also included.

Next it’s time to cool off at Gembeleng Waterfall. There are 5 natural infinity swimming pools along the hike to the top. Stop anytime and swim in the refreshing water with gorgeous views through the jungle tree tops to the valley below.
